Big Ten Conference presidents and chancellors could vote on the resumption of the football season as soon as today (Monday) – and at least sometime in the next week. During a Sunday video-conference, they viewed several plans to get conference teams back in action. A possible starting date of October 17th would allow teams to complete an eight-game regular season before the College Football Playoff selections are made. At least six of the 11 campus leaders who voted to postpone the season would have to change their minds if a vote is taken this week. The availability of at least four rapid-response testing options would open the door to daily testing and make a resumption of the season more likely.
